Given the circumstances due to the ongoing pandemic, it feels especially good to finish out this semester. It’s not over yet, but with only two days of classes left and final projects due, it definitely feels like it is the end. Since finals this semester are so early, the ending of the semester certainly feels rushed.
I managed to avoid the dreaded quarantine this semester, except for this past week. I am currently on quarantine day 8. As awful as it may be to be stuck in quarantine through Thanksgiving, I am thankful it happened at a time when labs are finished, and my classes are easily doable online.
I am so very grateful for the opportunities this internship has given me. It has allowed me to improve my writing skills, get an article published, and I still have an article to edit before I finish out the semester, along with completing my final project. I like how this internship is very flexible, and you get what you want out of it. Setting goals and meeting them was proven difficult during this chaotic semester, but the experience gained from this internship was undeniably worth it.
Although this semester was a bit hectic, I am glad I chose to do this internship this semester. In a time where in-person internships are difficult and dangerous, this internship is very able to be done all online, which is why this semester was the perfect time to do it.
I look forward to finishing the semester strong, and taking what I have learned throughout this internship and using it for future endeavors!
