In the current state that our country is in, it is more important than ever to take our health and hygiene seriously. This concern is compounded for those who work in school systems or with kids. It is crucial that good hygiene practice is conducted to mitigate the spread of germs. However, the nature of schools makes this practice even harder to be successful with. The amount of kids all packed into one building is a recipe for spreading anything that one student might have. Make sure to establish with your kids or students effective hygiene habits.
One of the most important aspects of the situation we are currently in is to emphasize hygiene and safety, while making sure to calm any fears that younger students may have. For many of them, this is the first instance of this to happen to them and it will be frightening. They will have many questions and be wondering how to solve the issues.
This past week, I have been caught off-guard by the amount of questions from all ages of students. This pandemic is truly affecting everyone regardless of age or location. It is important to remain optimistic yet realistic when talking about what will happen. I have started to make sure that I am being more cautious so as to not spread anything to students who may go home to those more liable to be infected. By working together and holding each other accountable, we can make a difference in the fight against infection.
